When I was a child growing up in Taiwan, I would do anything to avoid bathtime - crying, screaming, even pretending to be dead. We tried everything, from pharmaceutical brands recommended by dermatologists to natural homemade solutions, but nothing seemed to work.

One day, my grandmother came home with soapberries - the little fruits that indigenous people used for washing before soap was invented. After college, my friend Brian and I quit our jobs, packed our bags, and embarked on a rollercoaster journey to bring soapberries to the world.
